Aka isn’t a linear game. Meet various characters of all kinds: villagers willing to help, trapped animals, giant monsters, or ghosts from your past who need your help to be freed. Visually it’s a very pretty game but that’s really it for me. I love games like this where I can sit back and switch my brain off to everything but the game, however the writing feels lazy/isn’t great (literally a character called “Panic Boy”) and the controls feel janky as ♥♥♥♥ ie if I have my inventory open I can also open my crafting menu at the same time which results in them overlapping each other. Moving items between chests and inventory isn’t fluid, I found items will snap/almost magnetise to an empty slot before I’ve even clicked where to put it. Over all not for me – I need a bit more engagement other than just a surface level pretty life/farming sim.

So after playing over an hour its a wonderful charming peaceful game, apart from some minor bugs with water plants/vegs it seems to be fun game. The only thing I will say is some of the movement is a bit snappy and feels a bit floaty at times. Gave my first impressions of the game and I’d be happy to share them. The game has the potential to scratch that non-linear chill vibe itch I’ve had. Thank you again for the opportunity! This review was posted on the day of release, so it might be irrelevant later on. But as the game is now, it isn’t a complete game. The game is super stylized but the menus have been completely neglected, and the HUD that is always present in the game (unseen in game footage) also detracts from the feeling of the game. The controls are also quite clunky and need polish. This game could be really amazing, the style is amazing, but it needs to be updated
